Ron stretched out a shaking hand, eased the envelope from Errol’s beak, and slit it open. Neville stuffed his fingers in his ears. A split second later, Harry knew why. He thought for a moment it had exploded; a roar of sound filled the huge hall, shaking dust from the ceiling. “— STEALING THE CAR, I WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED IF THEY’D EXPELLED YOU, YOU WAIT TILL I GET HOLD OF YOU, I DON’T SUPPOSE YOU STOPPED TO THINK WHAT YOUR FATHER AND I WENT THROUGH WHEN WE SAW IT WAS GONE —” Mrs. Weasley’s yells, a hundred times louder than usual, made the plates and spoons rattle on the table, and echoed deafeningly off the stone walls. People throughout the hall were swiveling around to see who had received the Howler, and Ron sank so low in his chair that only his crimson forehead could be seen. “— LETTER FROM DUMBLEDORE LAST NIGHT, I THOUGHT YOUR FATHER WOULD DIE OF SHAME, WE DIDN’T BRING YOU UP TO BEHAVE LIKE THIS, YOU AND HARRY COULD BOTH HAVE DIED —” Harry had been wondering when his name was going to crop up. He tried very hard to look as though he couldn’t hear the voice that was making his eardrums throb. “— ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED — YOUR FATHER’S FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK, IT’S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT AND IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE WE’LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT BACK HOME.” A ringing silence fell. The red envelope, which had dropped from Ron’s hand, burst into flames and curled into ashes. Harry and Ron sat stunned, as though a tidal wave had just passed over them. A few people laughed and, gradually, a babble of talk broke out again. Hermione closed Voyages with Vampires and looked down at the top of Ron’s head.

“Well, I don’t know what you expected, Ron, but you —”

“Don’t tell me I deserved it,” snapped Ron. Harry pushed his porridge away. Rowling, J.K.. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (pp. 88-89). Pottermore Publishing. Kindle Edition.

He looked around at several of the smiling faces and laughing at Ron’s expense. Got up slowly and walked with purpose to the staff table and the seats of headmaster/controller of the school wards, and his depute, McGonagall. Thinking of the cruel remarks SNAPE, no professor he, said to everyone not in his house. And how verbal bullying was sanctioned by the head of the school it seemed.

His slow, methodical walk seemed to get the attention of everyone as a quiet descended on the hall.

He looked both straight in the eyes as though looking and judging their very souls, getting a calm look back from Dumbledore, but McGonagall looked down at her plate. As did the rest of the teachers, bar Snape, who looked at him challengingly.

A president of the United States in the 1960’s, JFK, is quoted as saying this: ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.’” He began. “Verbal attacks and abuse is still abuse, and still does harm.”

He looked over Mediwitch Pomphrey, “First Do No Harm, is in the Hippocratic Oath taken by both the muggle and magical healthcare nurses and doctors. Why do you allow harm in your presence? Why do you still have your magic for allowing harm to be done in your presence? Or did you actually take your oath?”

He looked hard at her as she shook then screamed and passed out, McGonagall going to her aid. While Dumbledore looked on, worried.

Harry looked over at Snape and raised his brow in a questioning manner, as they rushed Pomphrey off. “Potion Masters who do healing potions are under the same oaths. So, the question stands to you.”

One hundred points off for your cheek…BOY! And Detention with me for the rest of the year!”

No.”

Snape stood now, frothing at the mouth, his wand pointed at Harry. “You…. You…. I’ll see you EXPELLED FOR THIS!”

Harry calmly took out his wand, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. And nothing gets done here but harm to the students.” He broke his wand in two and dropped the pieces on the floor in front of his abuser, then looked at the now worried Dumbledore. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and you, sir have paved them in platinum intentions. And, yes, the walls and ceiling as well. And I want nothing to do with your version of a heavenly hell. Coated in abusive platinum all over.

“Don’t worry, I’ll find my own way home to the abusers you insist I live with. Seeing what you allow here, makes them much more palatable.”

And he turned and walked out of the silent hall, and out of sight, as all hell came out in the hall over this action.

As the muggleborn and raised quickly followed him.

Warning others of what happened that day. And with the muggleborn and raised now refusing entry to "the best school" Hogwarts, it soon closed its doors forever.
