FAQs

Is it OK to eat chaffles everyday? ›

Eating 1 chaffle is almost 50% of that recommended daily intake. For that reason, I definitely wouldn't refer to them as a health food, but they are not necessarily unhealthy, either. Both cheese and eggs are a great high-quality protein source, and cheese is a great source of calcium.

What is the difference between a waffle maker and a chaffle maker? ›

While chaffles are made with different ingredients than traditional waffles, they are both made in the same machine. The most important feature to look for when buying a waffle maker for chaffles is nonstick plates or griddles.

Why is my chaffle sticking? ›

(To ensure chaffle doesn't stick, we recommend lightly brushing iron with oil, just before spooning batter onto iron.) STIR together chaffle ingredients. (Our chaffles were all tested with freshly shredded cheese, not pre-shredded.)

What is a chaffle made of? ›

What are chaffles made of? There are only 2 ingredients in this miracle waffle: cheese and eggs. The reason it's called a chaffle is because it's basically a cheese waffle. Cheese + waffle = chaffle.

Can chaffles be eaten cold? ›

Serve chaffles hot or cold, but I personally prefer them hot. The recipe yields approximately 2 cheese waffles, it depends on your waffle iron size. If you are making these chaffles for more than one person, double or triple the ingredients.

How many carbs are in 2 chaffles? ›

More Chaffle Recipes:

Ham and Cheese Chaffles – 1.2 net carbs each. Bacon Cheddar Chaffles – 2.2 net carbs each. Pepperoni Pizza Chaffles – 2 net carbs each. Sausage Jalapeno Chaffles – 1.8 net carbs each.

Toast it like you would a slice of bread until crisp and warm. If you don't own a toaster or toaster oven, you can also reheat in the oven! Preheat the oven to 350℉ and bake for 10 minutes, or until crispy and warm in the center. The chaffles can also be reheated on a griddle.

Can you use cottage cheese to make chaffles? ›

We obviously love Greek yogurt and we're gaga for eggs, but sometimes you need another protein-packed option in the rotation for breakfast (or as a snack). Enter: cottage cheese waffles (aka "chaffles").

Why aren't my chaffles crispy? ›

Want extra crunch? Sprinkle cheese in the waffle maker. Simply add a little bit before adding the batter, then add more on top before closing the waffle maker. This works best for savory chaffles.

Why are my homemade waffles not crispy? ›

Not waiting until the iron heats up properly means your waffles will cook, but never achieve that satisfyingly crisp exterior. Overworking the batter will leave your waffles dense and chewy instead of light and airy. And stacking even the most perfect waffles will cause them to become soggy and limp in minutes.

Can chaffles be frozen? ›

This Basic Keto Chaffle Recipe is a great staple to have for easy breakfasts and snacks! Just 1.4 net carbs, easy to freeze and reheat, and perfect for keto meal prep.

How many eggs a day on a keto diet? ›

It's totally fine and safe to eat up to 6 eggs a day while on the keto diet. You can consume even more eggs per day occasionally, as long as you make sure that you eat your greens, healthy fats and proteins from other sources.

Are bananas okay on keto? ›

Despite the many health benefits of fruit, there is an issue with some fruits on the keto diet. Grapes and bananas, for instance, contain high quantities of carbs. 1 cup of grapes has approximately 26 grams and a medium banana, 24 grams of carbohydrate. As a rule, these fruits should be avoided.

What do chaffles taste like? ›

Rather than using flour, chaffles use cheeses like mozzarella, cheddar, and Colby jack to give the waffle its shape and texture. They're so popular on low-carb and keto lifestyles because they literally taste like a waffle – crunch and all.

Is a chaffle good for you? ›

Chaffles are low carb, gluten free, keto and sugar free, making them perfect for your keto diet! These keto waffles are such a fantastic food while you're on a keto diet because they offer a healthy dose of fat while remaining very low in carbs. Chaffles are rich, cheesy and super satisfying.

Can I eat keto bread everyday? ›

You can, maybe a slice or two here and there, but you ideally don't want to be eating too much of it. This is because a keto diet involves eating minimal carbs; less than 50g a day. However, a slice of bread contains around 20g of carbs, which is quite a chunk of your daily carbohydrate allocation.

Is it healthy to eat waffles daily? ›

Learn more. Let's be honest: Waffles may be delicious, but they aren't exactly good for you. They're usually made with ingredients that nutritionists say to limit, such as white flour, butter, and lots of sugar. A Belgian waffle from IHOP, for example, has 590 calories, 29 grams of fat, and 17 grams of sugars.
