The Rick and Morty season 6 premiere "Solaricks" (get it?) airs today (Sunday, Sept. 4) at 11 p.m. ET.
It's on Cartoon Network, during the AdultSwim block.
Expect Rick and Morty season 6 to also give us more about Rick's loopy backstory. As we learned last season, a "Killer Rick" is apparently responsible for the murders of his wife Diane and a younger Beth. Many plot twists later, we now know that Rick will no longer be the smartest man wherever he travels.
While we're not sure how Rick and Morty work their way out of those troubles, it seems like Rick and Morty season 6 won't get too glum because of it. Going off the Rick and Morty season 6 trailer, we know we can expect all of the standards. That means Rick using (and mocking) Jerry, Rick arguing with Summer and large (probably accidental) explosions. Oh, and it looks like Rick and Morty are starting a podcast.
Episode 1 is titled "Solaricks" — as in the film Solaris — while other titles reference other famous movies. For example, there will be an episode titled "Full Meta Jackrick," (Full Metal Jacket) and "Bethic Twinstinct" (Basic Instinct) for starters.
